Within Team FFWD, Rik is one of the longest trusted faces and is responsible for all marketing activities. Whether it's sponsorship, social media, PR activities or event organization, Rik plays the key role. In our small, dynamic company there is also a large overlap with sales and product development in which Rik's experience is an important contribution.
Rik's daily work varies greatly depending on the time of year. He coordinates the many projects to keep everything running smoothly. Whether it is a trade show, a product launch or a sponsorship deal. In addition to operational tasks he also frees up time to develop strategic plans for the future.
His personal goal is always to look for the next step to take the FFWD brand to the next level. At home you will find Rik's ever-growing collection of bikes: a Standert road bike, Van Nicholas gravel bike, American Eagle MTB, Bombtrack city bike, an old Colnago from 1998 converted into a fixie, an old 26" MTB waiting for a transformation and finally an old RIH racing frame converted into a city bike.
Rik started cycling at age 10 thanks to the influence of his father, an cycling enthousiast. In his younger years he regularly pinned on a bib number to race his miles in the cycling peloton. His favorite professional races are the epic classics such as Paris-Roubaix and Strade Bianchi. But the Amstel Gold Race and the Tour de France also have a special place in his heart because of the memories from his youth.
If he had to compare himself to a (former) professional cyclist, it would probably be a hard-working and modest rider. For cycling vacations, Rik prefers Mallorca, a destination he has cycled many times but still can never get enough of.
In his free time Rik likes to balance family, sports and relaxation. He likes to relax with a gin-tonic while watching movies or going to a techno or hardstyle party. Rik is a fixture on Team FFWD and a trusted point of contact for anyone who loves fast wheels.

Master of marketing
Riding a race bike for almost 30 year and I have to be honest that it's not always easy for me to get on the bike. But I know that every ride will clear my head and I makes me enjoy exploring the world around me.
